Figuring Life Out

Let’s be honest, life is confusing and hard.

We’re all in different seasons of life. As a young adult, we’re trying to figure out what we want to do with our lives: what college/university to go to, what career path we want to pursue, who we’ll marry and the list goes on and on. We put a time limit on when things NEED to be accomplished. And then we feel guilty when we go over our time limit. We beat ourselves up and bathe ourselves in guilt and shame. We feel unworthy and not good enough. But we need to realize that we’re all on different journeys. Just because someone else is in university doesn’t mean you need to be school right now. Just because all of your friends know what career path to take doesn’t mean you need to know right now. And I know it’s difficult to see everyone on facebook getting engaged, married and having babies. But again, we are all on different journeys. God has a plan for us and we need to trust in His timing.

I’ll be twenty in a less than a week and apart of me is excited, but another part of me is scared. I put way too much pressure on myself, just like most of us do. I am definitely in a season of waiting and that’s more than okay. I know God has me where I am right now for a reason. I’m focusing on what I know is important and leaving the rest up to God.

We don’t need to have everything figured out all of the time. We will never ever ever have everything together all the time. Like ever😉

God has a plan for our lives and even though life seems hopeless, He has a purpose for all of us. Our life is a story written by God and each day He allows us to read a page at a time. If we read the whole book right now we’d live our lives in constant fear of the future.

Sometimes we’re in the dead of night, but morning always comes around. Take each day as it comes and have faith knowing God knows the story of our lives. “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”~Matthew 6:34

Allow yourself to live in the moment and let go. Let go and let God. Trust in Him with your whole heart and He will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6). Know that no matter how dark your future seems, that there is always light. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord , “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”~Jeremiah 29:11

Just breathe and remember your life is in God’s hands ❤

Thank you for taking the time to read this! This is my first post and I’m excited to write some more.
